Saray
About This Spot
Stepping into Saray feels like entering a lively corner of Istanbul tucked away in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town. The atmosphere hums with warmth and genuine hospitality, where the buzz of conversations blends effortlessly with the soft clink of plates and the rich aroma of freshly ground Turkish coffee. Here, time slows just enough to savor moments, whether seated under the sky on the terrace or nestled inside amidst inviting décor that strikes a balance between cozy and vibrant.
The pace at Saray is unhurried but alive—a place where good company and shared plates are part of the rhythm. The menu complements this mood, inviting diners to explore a range of flavors that echo traditional Turkish fare without feeling rigid or overly formal. The meze platters create a tapestry of tastes that encourage lingering and conversation, while dishes served in copper pots bring a touch of warmth and authenticity to the table. The humus, though varied in reception, and the signature pide or kebap dishes often become familiar comforts for returning guests, accompanied by the distinctive, soothing ritual of Turkish coffee.
What stands out most is the welcoming nature of the service—attentive yet relaxed, creating a space where guests feel at ease whether dropping by late at night or sheltering from an unexpected rain shower. The outdoor seating buzzes with life deep into the evening, making Saray a cherished refuge for those who appreciate an inviting atmosphere paired with honest food. It’s the kind of place that invites quiet moments, shared laughter, and a genuine sense of belonging amid the lively streets of Bucharest.

This is a Turkish restaurant in old town in the city of Bucharest. We had dinner yesterday evening in the terrace of the restaurant. They atmosphere was really good and the food was not bad. The relation between prize and quality was simply good. Nothing special to remark. We ordered a dish of hummus, and this was not really good. It didn’t worth. The rest of the food was more less OK. We didn’t order dessert. With some drinks we paid around 525 lei, but with the service it was around 600. They didn’t offer the possibility to pay the service as optional, they directly included in the bill.

Very good food. Very good cocktails. Extraordinarily friendly waitresses! This was seriously one of the best service experiences we've had in Bucharest. We will be back!

Food was good. Service was great and the decor, vibe and atmosphere were good. The toilet was clean with all the necessary. I spent at least 2 hours there because of rain and I felt welcomed and comfortable. Keep it up ^^

Coolest place in Bucharest. It’s our first night here and we’re just walking around and we checked everything and we came to this place. It’s open late. They have an outdoor seating. There’s lots of people here. It’s so fun. It’s around midnight and they’re still serving. The food is looking amazing. the place is beautiful. The guys are really nice. The service is fantastic. They have a lot of Pepsi logos. It’s right next to this beautiful massive institution . We’re loving this is a highlight of our travels in eastern Europe.

We was welcomed by a lovely lady on our arrival, we only had shisha and hot beverages. The service was very welcoming and made you feel comfortable, the environment is very nice and pretty. The shisha was nice and smooth with good flavour, we had tropical fruits. I had a lovely romania beer called Carpathian, I would recommend, very smooth and doesn't make you bloated.

We love Turkish food, and glad we came here on our first day in Bucharest. The service was very friendly and food came in fast. We ordered humus with beef chucks with fresh bread making a great start to our meal. We made the mistake and ordered half a platter - the picture didn’t do justice how huge of a platter this was. All the meats and bulgar were delicious. And ofcourse, we had to finish with Kunufe, Turkish coffee and tea.
